In Ulm, um Ulm, und um Ulm herum.

I’m told most German speakers know this German tongue twister.  When we tell Germans that we live in Ulm there is instant recognition and you can almost see the rhyme going through their heads.  Americans and other non Germans however, draw a complete blank (as I once did) and ask where that is and often try to figure out how this strange 1 syllable word is said or spelled.

It is a beautiful city though, and we enjoy living here.
